Still working my way through the delights in this sack of tea love, and so far the winner is Moon Balloon. I brewed it grandpa style, and the aroma immediately gave an earthy puerh experience. The flavor: smooth and chocolatey, with the black component really giving a lingering sweetness and the tiniest astringency, which remained in my mouth long after each sip, and it’s flavors dominate on subsequent steeps. Paired really well with an apple and a stroopwaffel - recommend 10/10! Sunny was also a delight, can’t wait to try ‘em all.
The biggest advantage of "What's Love Got To Do With It?" is the big variety of teas you get to taste and try, giving you a chance to fall in love with a new tea. I'm still working my way through the entire selection, but am fairly excited about Moon Balloon at this point, both hot and cold! More to come!
I've had the 2023 Vanilla Bean Dream Machine since around December, and I've quite enjoyed it grandpa-style and western-style steeped. I finally got around to gong fu brewing it, and it is something else entirely. Absolutely wonderful. Plus, there are other shous to sample. They're great too!
